
Summer Intensive
Join us for summer intensive June 16-20 and June 23-27!
During our two weeks, dancers will study under professional dancers and instructors from around the world and be trained in many dance forms with an emphasis on ballet technique. Dancers will be encouraged to grow their artistry in a nurturing environment. All dancers that attend the second week will get the opportunity to perform a final showcase at the Ned.
Summer Intensive is open to company members and non-members ages 9-18. You can chose to join us for one week or both weeks.

About our Intensive
Dancers must be at least 9 to register for intensive. All non-company members to Ballet Arts will be asked to supply a birth certificate on the first day of intensive at check-in.
Classes will begin at 9 a.m. and end around 5 p.m. Dancers will be provided with lunch each day while at intensive.
Dance classes offered and are not limited to include: Ballet, Pointe, Variations, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theater, Tap, Composition, Audition Preparation, Pilates, Yoga, Ballet History, and more.
Meet Our Instructors
Violeta Angelova, who danced with companies such as the Vienna State Opera Ballet, the Volksoper-Vienna, Ballet Internationale, the New Jersey Ballet, the Suzanne Farrell Ballet, and many more. Violeta is a current freelance guest artist, coach, and teacher. She has also been a faculty member of the New Jersey School of Ballet, and L’Etoile Ballet Acedemy. Violeta is an American Ballet Theatre certified teacher.
Fabio Mariano, graduated from State School of Dance Maria Olenewa and performed in big productions of ballet and opera at Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro such as The Nutcracker, The Rite of Spring, Aida and Marguerite & Armand. Taught by renowned Brazilian and Russian teachers from Kirov Ballet, he performed many classical and contemporary works by different choreographers early in his career in Brazil. In 2016, he joined Atlantic City Ballet (NJ). Fábio has been an artist with Collage Dance since 2017, where he has performed works by Nacho Duato, G. Balanchine, Wayne McGregor, Camile A. Brown, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Amy Hall Garner and the artistic director Kevin Thomas. He has also choreographed both for the professional company and the conservatory. Fábio is a ballet teacher with more than 10 years of experience. In 2020, he co-founded the online platform Blacks in Ballet alongside Ingrid Silva and Ruan Galdino to highlight ballet dancers of color.
Joey Dlearo, from Loganville, GA, started his training under his mother, Keri Beth Dlearo. He began his formal ballet training at Lilburn School of Ballet in 2013. He then trained under Orlando Molina (current Houston Ballet Boys Program Coordinator) for a year before joining the Richmond Ballet Trainee program for two years. Joey is now a company member at Milwaukee Ballet.
Anwen Brown trained with the Pittsburg Ballet Theatre School and the San Francisco Ballet School, joining Ballet Memphis in 2013. She has danced in George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, Sugarplum, Clara and Dew Drop in Nutcracker, and Dorothy in Wizard of Oz. She has also performed works by Julia Adams, Mariano Oliveira, Gabrielle Lamb, and Matthew Newman. She has also danced in the National Choreographer’s Initiative and the Prix de Lausanne. Anwen has partnered with Ballet Arts as an Audition Judge and has been a Ballet Arts Summer Intensive Instructor.
Emilia Sandoval, a native of Sacramento, California, is a choreographer and company artist with Ballet Memphis. Sandoval received her formal training under the direction of Barbara Crockett and Allyson Deane at Deane Dance Center in Sacramento. She continued receiving a diverse range of training through her studies with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s Graduate Program, and summers spent on full merit scholarships with Nederlands Dans Theatre, Alonzo King LINES Ballet (2018 Discovery Project Winner), San Francisco Ballet, and Gaga USA. She most recently studied under renowned choreographer, Medhi Walerski of Ballet BC, at Orsolina 28,
further forming her distinctive artistic voice. Sandoval is also a teacher in the Ballet Memphis School, teaching Ballet and Contemporary dance to the school's upper division.

We get it! Summer Intensives can be very expensive… some in the thousands of dollars. Each year, the company has fundraising efforts to try and offset the cost to keep intensive affordable for a dancers. Our regular price for company members and current academy students is $400 per week, which is a bargain to study dance under some world-class instructors without having to travel to a big city.
