Auditions to Join
Each year, Ballet Arts hosts an open audition to join the company. Auditions are open to any dancer 10-18 years of age from any dance school/studio throughout West Tennessee. SIGN UP - Auditions for the 2025-2026 season will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Our 44th annual production of The Nutcracker will be performed November 28-30, 2025, at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Next spring we will debut a brand new ballet, The Little Mermaid, which will be held on April 24-26, 2026.

Age Requirements:
An Apprentice or Junior Trainee member must be 10 years old on or by October 1, and have at least two years of formal ballet training and be dancing at an upper beginner level or intermediate level.
Performing members (Junior and Senior members) must be at least 13 years old on or by October 1. Pointe work should be suitable for intermediate and above level (usually, but not limited to, four or more years).
Audition Dates:

Performing Member auditions will be held on August 9 from 11am-12:30pm.

Apprentice Member auditions will be held on August 9 from 9am-10:30am

There will be a mandatory meeting for all new members on August 9 at 8am prior to auditions.
There is a $25 non-refundable audition fee due at the time of the audition. Both auditions will be held at the Ballet Arts building located at 4450 Highway 45 N, Jackson, TN 38305.
We are asking that everyone attending auditions in person must register online by filling out the audition form.
Important Information:
It is imperative that you register your child prior to auditions! This lets us know how many students will be attending, and how many time slots we will need to offer for check-in. Once you have registered you will be contacted with a specific time for your child’s audition. Our auditions will range from 8AM to 12:30PM.
Those who do not register by the due date will not be admitted into auditions, and therefore will be disqualified from our current season.

**A copy of a birth certificate must be presented for new applicants**

The following forms/items are due by 1st company meeting on August 16, 2025:

Dancer Contract, Declaration of Conflict, Enrollment Verification, and Family Etiquette Agreement - emailed with acceptance letter
** A copy of a physical completed within the last year is needed for all dancers**
